Meet Our Coach

With more than 40 years of archery experience and 133 international medals, Coach Dong Won Kang is dedicated to helping our archers reach their full potential.

Win & Archery’s coach, Dong Won Kang picked up a bow and arrow for the first time when he was only 10-years old. Our coach is no stranger to overcoming the obstacles that come with becoming a great archer.

OUR COACH’S PATH TO WIN & ARCHERY. . .

1979                            Joined Elementary School Archery Club in 4th Grade (Age 10)

1983                            Member of Korean National Junior Archery Team (Age 14)

1985-1987                  Member of the Korean National Archery Team (Age 16-18)

1992                            Graduated from Korea National Sports University

1992-1995                  Assistant Professor of Archery at Korea National Sports University

1992                            Middle & High School Teaching License

1993                            Archery Coach for the Korean National Junior Archery Team

1993                            Guest Speaker: Archery Instructor Training for K-12 Students (Japan)

1993-1994                  Trained Officer Cadets in Archery at the Korea Military Academy

1993 & 1994               Awarded ‘Top Teacher of the Year’ by the Korea Archery Association

1994                            Archery Coach at Kangnam University

1994                            Korea Archery Association, VP of Competition

1995                            Korea Archery Association, VP of Judging

1999                            Immigrated to the Unites States

2015                            Began Private Archery Coaching

2016                            USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification

2016                            Founded & Opened Win & Archery Club in Chantilly, VA

2018                            Head Coach of the Korean American Archery Association
